The free sports event gathered thousands of people in Madrid to enjoy various activities. The initiative aims to promote healthy habits through sports and leisure.
Yesterday, the IV edition of La Noche del Deporte took place in Madrid, an event organised by the newspaper MARCA in collaboration with the City Council of Madrid. The celebration was held in the Plaza de España and other iconic locations in the city, attracting thousands of locals and visitors.
Attendees were able to participate in a variety of sports, including football, 3VS3 basketball, athletics, modern pentathlon, pickleball, and many more. Activities such as race simulators and a gaming area were also offered, along with sports exhibitions and a 4-kilometre route through the Parque del Oeste.
The event was inaugurated by the Sports Councillor, Sonia Cea, and featured sports figures such as Oriol Cardona and Lucía Martín-Portugués. During the inauguration, Juan Ignacio Gallardo, director of MARCA, presented trophies to outstanding athletes, including Fernando Romay and the futsal team Inter JP Financial.
The celebration lasted for five hours of uninterrupted activities, with monitors and experts adapting each activity for all ages and levels. Raffles were held and prizes were offered to participants, in an effort to promote physical activity and healthy habits in the community.
