The Junta de Andalucía has allocated over 13 million euros to repair 232 rural roads in 56 municipalities in Huelva damaged by last winter's rains. In Cumbres Mayores, the works on the Camino de Higuera and the Camino de Pilancrón exceed 331,000 euros.
The Junta de Andalucía has invested more than 13 million euros in the province of Huelva to repair the damage caused by the series of storms last winter on 232 rural roads in 56 municipalities, as highlighted by the president of the PP of Huelva, Manuel Andrés González, as reported by canalcostatv.es.
González visited Cumbres Mayores to learn about the actions carried out on the Camino de Higuera and the Camino de Pilancrón, two roads that together represent an investment of over 331,000 euros. He was accompanied on the visit by the deputy mayor, Enrique Carrascal.
The popular leader explained that these works address the damage caused by the heavy rainfall and emphasised their importance for the municipalities of the Sierra de Huelva, where agriculture and livestock are the main economic activities.
Maintaining rural roads in good condition is essential to facilitate access for owners to their agricultural and livestock operations
González added that improving these roads also facilitates the transport and distribution of goods to markets, especially in a region with a strong livestock activity in numerous municipalities.
The actions are framed, according to the Huelva PP, in the Andalusian Government's commitment to the agricultural sector and the rural world, aiming to respond to the professionals affected by last winter's rains.
