Abanca has finalised the purchase of the British Council headquarters in the Almagro district of Madrid, which will become its flagship building. This real estate complex boasts over 4,000 square meters and a landscaped courtyard.
Abanca has reached an agreement with the British Council to acquire its headquarters on Paseo del General Martínez Campos in the Almagro district, allowing it to establish its flagship building in the Spanish capital, as reported by expansion.com.
The complex features more than 4,000 square meters spread across two interconnected properties: a historic palace and a building designated for educational activities. Additionally, it includes an exterior landscaped courtyard, standing out for its uniqueness in the centre of Madrid.
The financial institution has stated that this acquisition will facilitate the creation of a value ecosystem to meet the objectives of its strategic plan in Madrid, focused on growth in the local market and its metropolitan area, particularly in the business and wealth management sectors.
Abanca has also highlighted that it will enable the provision of social, educational, and cultural offerings to the citizens of Madrid through its Social Work and Afundación.
In the past year, the entity has experienced a growth of 9% in its business volume and a 19% increase in the number of clients, representing more than 10% of its total business share.
Abanca's network in Madrid comprises 50 offices and a team of over 600 professionals.
With this purchase, Abanca expands its presence in Madrid, joining other iconic spaces such as its corporate headquarters at Recoletos 4 and the Serrano 45 Space, which represent a significant advancement in its commercial model and client relations.
