From today, diesel will have a bonus of 20 cents per litre on the Hydrocarbon Tax. This measure is activated due to the rising prices of crude oil and petrol, which have increased fuel costs over the past month.
From today, diesel will be subsidised with a discount of 20 cents per litre, as reported by expansion.com. This increase in the bonus is due to the resumption of tensions in the Middle East, which have driven fuel prices to record levels, with a rise of 24% in diesel and 20% in petrol since the beginning of summer.
The activation of the safeguard clause, included in the Government's anti-crisis decree, allows this tax relief in light of the price surge affecting consumers. The average price of diesel A currently stands at 1.85 euros per litre, compared to 1.53 euros at the end of June, while 95 E5 petrol reaches 1.72 euros per litre.
The reduction in the petrol bonus has been adjusted from 10 to 5 cents because its price only increased by 7.3% in August. This situation translates into a general rise in fuel prices, impacting consumers in a context of rising inflation, which reached 4.3% in August.
The Executive has indicated that it will maintain continuous monitoring of the impact of the conflict in Iran on the Spanish economy. However, this tax relief will only be in effect until the end of September, unless new measures are implemented.
