The fast food chain McDonald's is advancing its McDonald's Next program, integrating artificial intelligence in its restaurants in Spain. This process includes smart kiosks and predictive maintenance of machinery.

McDonald's Spain is progressing in the deployment of its global strategic plan, known as McDonald's Next, which aims to modernise its restaurants through the integration of artificial intelligence. The information, reported by expansion.com, highlights that this technology is being applied in various areas, from the kitchen to customer interaction.

One of the key elements is the smart kiosks that allow menu recommendations to be adapted based on different factors, such as the time of day or weather conditions. According to the company, this helps to optimise the customer experience, facilitating decisions and reducing wait times.

Additionally, McDonald's is implementing a predictive maintenance system that allows for anticipating failures in critical equipment, such as fryers and ice cream machines. This technology will progressively be available in Spanish locations, aiming to minimise downtime and improve operational efficiency.

The company is also focusing its use of technology on user experience through the MyMcDonald's app, where they process behavioural data to adjust offers and communications. It is emphasised that the goal is not to predict orders, but to anticipate needs in a useful manner.

In the marketing realm, McDonald's is exploring the use of generative artificial intelligence, albeit cautiously following incidents in other countries. The company reaffirms that strategy and decision-making depend on human talent, despite the assistance technology can provide.

To ensure that its staff is trained in these innovations, McDonald's Spain offers training courses at its offices, as well as daily training in restaurants so that employees can effectively manage the new technology.
