This has been reported by La Gaceta de Salamanca, which highlights the positive impact of this expansion for the Salamanca countryside.
The new facility in Huelva will reduce transport costs compared to supplies from more distant factories, which will result in quality products that are sustainable and economically accessible for farmers. Gerardo Dueñas, territorial director of Fertinagro Biotech, assures that "it will be a benefit for the farmers of the province."
The company, part of the Tervalis Group, continues to focus on plant nutrition as its main line of activity, but is also expanding into human and animal food through biotechnology-based solutions. In Teruel, it is finalising two plants with bioreactors for this new area, aiming to make the leap within this year.
The expansion process coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Tervalis Group, to which Fertinagro belongs. During this time, research and development have been essential to establish itself as a national benchmark in agri-food innovation. Proof of this is the 2025 National Innovation Award in the category of Large Innovative Company, awarded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
Social commitment is also growing: its Foundation currently has around 120 people and plans to reach 200, with new hires expected in Valencia and Palos de la Frontera, providing opportunities for those who find it hardest to access the job market.
