The Andalusian Energy Agency grants €732,000 to Greenvalis Energy to install a biomass boiler in Palos de la Frontera. The company will invest €2.36 million and will cover 70% of the thermal consumption of the Fertinagro Biotech plant.
The energy services company Greenvalis Energy, S.L.U. will receive a grant of €732,000 from the Andalusian Energy Agency to install a biomass boiler in Palos de la Frontera, according to huelvared.com. The project, which will involve an investment of €2.36 million, will largely replace natural gas with biomass in the fertiliser manufacturing process of Fertinagro Biotech.
The new installation will feature a 10,000 kW biomass combustion oven, which will cover around 70% of the thermal consumption of the granulation line. In addition to reducing fossil fuel consumption and energy costs, it will allow the use of local renewable resources and produce fertilisers with a lower carbon footprint.
The aid is part of the ‘Industrial Value Chains’ programme, included in the integrated competitiveness and energy incentives for industrial value chains, sustainable mining, and productive spaces in Andalusia (Incea), co-financed with Feder funds 2021-2027.
This grant is part of a package of incentives worth €9.17 million from the Ministry of University, Industry, Energy and Innovation for five companies, approved by the Governing Council of the Andalusian Energy Agency in July 2026. The initiatives, located in Huelva, Almería, Cádiz, and Seville, will mobilise a total investment of €26.5 million and will prevent the emission of more than 27,000 tonnes of CO2 per year, equivalent to removing about 12,000 vehicles from circulation.
The other incentivised projects include a grant of €3.37 million to Molino del Guadalquivir S.L. in Lebrija (Sevilla) for an 8.5 MW biomass boiler; €792,263 to Neton Solyman Energía, S.L.U. for a photovoltaic installation in Albox (Almería); and €565,750 to Innovación y Tecnología Energética Avanzada S.L. for a solar plant with storage in El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz).
