The electricity company has conveyed to the mayor, Jenaro Orta, a programme that includes the renewal of the medium and low voltage network and two new transformation centres. It is also studying a underground line between the substation and the urban centre.
Endesa, through its network subsidiary e-distribución, has presented its Investment Plan 2026-2031 to the City Council of Isla Cristina. The mayor, Jenaro Orta, has received from the company’s local representatives, Víctor Mena and Margarita Novalbos, the main lines of action planned for the coming years.
The programme includes the comprehensive renewal of the medium and low voltage network in different areas of the municipality and the construction of two new transformation centres, which will allow for the redistribution of electrical load at various points.
The electricity company is also studying the feasibility of a new medium voltage underground line that would connect the Isla Cristina substation with the urban centre, an action aimed at strengthening the electrical supply to the locality.
The City Council and Endesa have agreed to maintain collaboration to process permits and plan works alongside other interventions in public spaces. According to both parties, this coordination will allow for more efficient execution of the works and reduce the impact on residents and businesses.
The actions are part of e-distribución's Investment Plan for the province of Huelva, aimed at renewing, automating, and expanding electrical distribution networks, improving service quality, and facilitating the progressive integration of renewable energies.
The company frames the plan within the reinforcement of supply in a coastal municipality whose population multiplies during the summer season.
