The Junta de Andalucía has allocated €2.48 million to a specialised training call in green hydrogen, which is 38% more than in its first edition in 2025. The programme aims to train 2,000 students over two years and is primarily directed at unemployed individuals from Huelva and Cádiz, provinces that the regional Administration identifies as key development hubs for this energy source, as reported by Diario de Sevilla.
The call is part of a broader strategy for professional specialisation that the Junta has deployed for the period 2025-2028. Public universities in Andalusia offer 65 degrees in engineering and new technologies and another 30 related to health, which, along with 18 scientific degrees, total 113 of the 188 courses initially approved. The programming was later reviewed and now includes 210 degrees until 2028.
For the academic year 2026/2027, public universities plan to implement 36 new degrees: nine bachelor's degrees, 25 master's degrees, and two doctorates in fields such as artificial intelligence, data, health, energy, or tourism. The university programming includes 41 courses related to AI, data, and cybersecurity during the period 2025-2028, of which thirteen are specific to artificial intelligence: four bachelor's degrees, eight master's degrees, and one doctorate.
The aerospace sector also has a training call endowed with €2.12 million to train 795 unemployed individuals from Cádiz, Málaga, and Sevilla, aiming to meet personnel needs identified among companies in the sector.
In the tourism sector, the Elevate programme has trained 4,889 people in digital skills through 19 courses spread across six areas: digital marketing, artificial intelligence applied to tourism, Big Data and Business Intelligence, smart and sustainable tourism, and innovation and digitalisation. The initiative has mobilised €9.4 million.
The Employment and Training Programme incorporates as priority actions those linked to new technologies and ecological production in agriculture, livestock, forestry, and fishing, as well as innovation in the agri-food chain, renewable energies, energy efficiency, waste management, decontamination, and the circular economy.
The green hydrogen call for unemployed individuals from Huelva and Cádiz is already underway and aims to train 2,000 students over two years.
