The Chamber of Commerce of Málaga and the Junta are analysing the internationalisation of the Málaga business fabric, which is already selling in 174 countries. Fruits, oils, and minerals lead foreign sales.
Companies in the province of Málaga have exported €2.234.6 million in the first seven months of 2026, 12.9% more than in the same period last year. This was discussed on Wednesday by the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Málaga, José Carlos Escribano, and the delegate of the Government of the Junta of Andalucía in Málaga, Patricia Navarro, along with the territorial delegate of Economy, Finance, European Funds and University, Industry, Energy and Innovation, Antonio García.
The data confirms the upward trend of the Málaga foreign sector, which is already placing its products in 174 countries. As highlighted in the meeting, companies in the province have diversified both the products and the destinations of their exports.
By sectors, fruits and edible fruits lead foreign sales with €292.6 million, followed by fats and oils, with €267.8 million, and metallic minerals, slags and ashes, with €200.9 million. The largest increases have been recorded in essential oils and perfumery articles, which grew by 49%; mineral fuels, with an increase of 46.4%; and machines, apparatus and electrical material, which rose by 34%.
Europe remains the main destination market, with Italy, Portugal and France at the forefront, although Málaga companies also sell in China, Canada, South Korea, the United Kingdom and Sweden, among other countries in America and Asia.
Escribano has focused on the challenge of continuing to expand markets and has called for support for SMEs: "From the Chamber, we work to ensure that our companies have access to the knowledge, contacts and resources necessary to take the leap to foreign markets and then consolidate their presence in them".
"Málaga is proving that it has companies capable of competing, innovating and growing outside our borders," said the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Málaga.
The delegate of the Andalusian Government in Málaga has valued the performance of the productive fabric: "These data demonstrate one very clear thing: that Málaga has the capacity to generate employment and wealth through the internationalisation of its market." Navarro added that the Málaga business fabric "is capable of producing, innovating and opening markets".
During the meeting, collaboration between the Chamber, the Junta de Andalucía and other support organisations for internationalisation was also addressed. Escribano defended institutional coordination: "When the Chamber, the Junta and the rest of the involved agents work in a coordinated manner, it is possible to offer companies more resources, knowledge and opportunities to grow in international markets".
The Chamber of Commerce of Málaga maintains advisory, training, trade mission and business meeting programmes to support companies in their international expansion. Among its initiatives is the Hub Málaga Export, a business community that currently brings together 55 companies.
