The Málaga City Council, through Promálaga, has launched a new call for grants for SMEs with a budget of €400,000. Applications can be submitted from this Wednesday until October 15.
Málaga's SMEs now have a new line of municipal aid to modernise their businesses. The City Council, through the municipal company Promálaga, published the call for the 'Business Boost' programme on Tuesday in the Official Bulletin of the Province, endowed with €400,000 and aimed at companies with their main activity and address in the city or those planning to establish themselves there. According to Diario Sur, the application period opens this Wednesday and will be available for 30 working days, until October 15.
The aid covers up to 75% of the eligible investment, with a limit of €10,000 per application. Eligible expenses include the rehabilitation of premises, the purchase of machinery, furniture and computer equipment, as well as digitalisation projects: hardware, software licenses, application development or website design. Quality or environmental certifications, compliance with data protection regulations, and the registration of trademarks or patents are also included.
Individuals and legal entities classified as SMEs that carry out their main activity in Málaga and have their registered and tax address in the city can apply for these grants. It is required to have started the activity and be registered with the IAE and the Social Security from January 1, 2025, as well as to commit to a minimum investment of €1,500 (excluding VAT) and demonstrate the project's viability.
The call is open to freelancers, limited liability entrepreneurs, civil societies, commercial companies, worker cooperatives, and labour societies. The evaluation of applications will take into account the company's age and legal form, with extra points for social economy entities. In case of a tie, it will be resolved by the order of submission of the complete application.
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the electronic headquarters of the Málaga City Council (https://sede.malaga.eu/).
