The Port of Huelva will fully finance the investment of nearly €77 million for the burial of Hispanoamérica Avenue, a project expected to be awarded in the first half of 2027. This was confirmed by the president of the Port Authority, Alberto Santana, during a visit to the Levante Quay alongside the head of the Infrastructure Area, Guadalupe Díaz, as reported by 1minutohuelva.com.
The project has the approval of the Council of Ministers for the tendering of the project, which also includes the construction of an associated underground car park. Santana has positively assessed the support from the central government and thanked the collaboration of Ports of the State, the Port's human team, its Board of Directors, and the Huelva City Council.

The project is part of the comprehensive renovation of the Levante Quay. The burial will extend over 962 meters, from the start of the avenue next to the Aqualón Shopping Centre to the roundabout near the Rio Tinto Company Quay. The typical section will include two lanes in each direction, each 3.25 meters wide, with a five-meter free height.
The underground car park beneath the quay will accommodate at least 598 spaces, of which 18 will be reserved for people with reduced mobility. The project will allow pedestrian connectivity between the Levante Quay and the city and free up nearly 80,000 square meters for leisure, dining, conferences, culture, tourism, and advanced services.
The president of the Port has indicated that the expectation is to award the works in the first half of 2027, a period that will allow planning with the City Council for traffic changes to minimise the impact on traffic. The aim is for Hispanoamérica Avenue to remain operational for most of the execution, although the lanes will be reduced from four to two, one in each direction.
