The head of the Executive was accompanied by the third vice president and Minister for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Sara Aagesen, and the Government delegate in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández. They all held a meeting with mayors from the affected towns in Huelva and Seville.
From the province of Huelva, the mayors of Niebla, Villarrasa, Villalba del Alcor, Berrocal, Zalamea la Real, Paterna del Campo, Escacena del Campo, El Campillo, Valverde del Camino, and La Palma del Condado participated. From Seville, the mayors of El Madroño, Aznalcóllar, and El Castillo de las Guardas attended.
The Government provided more than 1,000 civilian and military personnel and 320 ground and aerial resources to combat the forest fire. Additionally, it will cover 50% of the cost of restoring the affected area.
This Tuesday, the Council of Ministers declared this area as severely affected by a civil protection emergency. This declaration activates the mechanism for state aid to mitigate the personal and material damages caused by the fire.
