The Integra Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia are organising 50 free practical cybersecurity workshops in ten locations across the Region. The programme starts on September 18 and runs until December 10.
Small and medium-sized enterprises in the Region of Murcia will be able to strengthen their protection against digital risks with CIBERREG, a regional practical cybersecurity programme aimed at helping SMEs identify their risks, implement concrete measures, and know how to react to a cyberattack. The initiative is developed by the Integra Foundation in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Murcia, as reported by the chamber itself.
The programme includes 50 free in-person workshops spread across ten regional editions. The locations will be Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca, Caravaca de la Cruz, Yecla, Águilas, San Javier, Torre Pacheco, Molina de Segura, and Alcantarilla. The inaugural session will take place on September 18 at 9:30 AM, featuring a session on the main threats to businesses and the presentation of the training itinerary, which will take place between September 21 and December 10 with five weekly sessions at each location.
Under the slogan “Protect your business without being a cybersecurity expert,” each edition consists of five connected workshops lasting three hours each. The sessions combine awareness-raising, applied training, and a practical block so that each company obtains a tool tailored to its activity. The content covers password management and two-factor authentication, backups, access control, data protection, business continuity, supplier risks, and initial actions in the event of a cyberattack.
The programme addresses common situations in the regional productive fabric, such as fraud due to changes in suppliers' bank accounts, loss of access to systems by a supplier, or the use of shared accounts among workers. Each workshop provides a document tailored to the participating company: an asset map and an exposure traffic light, a digital hygiene plan, a continuity plan, a supplier map with alternatives in case of failures, and an incident response plan.
As a complementary resource, companies can use ORUM, the cybersecurity service of the Region of Murcia, which allows for an online diagnosis of the level of maturity in cybersecurity and provides improvement recommendations.
CIBERREG is the project that the Integra Foundation is executing in the Region of Murcia as part of the Retech programme (Territorial Networks of Technological Specialisation). The initiative is funded with 1.2 million euros through the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (NextGenerationEU), under the agreement signed with the National Cybersecurity Institute (Incibe).
