The President of the United States, Donald Trump, claims that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to stop attacking energy targets. This statement comes amid rising diesel prices worldwide.

Donald Trump, President of the United States, stated on Monday that Russia and Ukraine have reached an agreement to no longer attack "energy targets". According to the media outlet expansion.com, Trump made this announcement via his social network, where he highlighted that "Ukraine has agreed not to attack Russian energy targets" and that "Russia has agreed to do the same".

Trump's statement comes in a context where the price of diesel has increased significantly. "The rise in global diesel prices is mainly due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, not Iran," Trump added. This comment comes at a critical time, as hydrocarbon prices in the United States are causing concern among the population.

The American president also revealed that he had asked Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky to stop attacking Russian refineries to avoid a "diesel shortage". Trump expressed that Zelensky should redirect his attacks towards other targets and not towards Russia's energy infrastructure.

The Kremlin has responded positively to Trump's request, with Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stating that any call for the Kiev regime to cease attacks on civil economic infrastructure is welcome. However, he also warned that the situation in the crude markets is deteriorating rapidly due to the escalation in the Persian Gulf.

This agreement, if confirmed, could have significant implications for the global energy market, which is already experiencing tensions due to other conflicts, including the situation with Iran.
