Ikea has announced a restructuring of its management in Spain, led by Carl Aaby, aimed at adapting to the new needs of consumers. This move coincides with the start of its fiscal year 2027.
Ikea, the well-known Swedish furniture chain, has carried out a reorganisation of its management committee in Spain. The information, reported by expansion.com, details that this restructuring takes place just over a year after the arrival of Carl Aaby as CEO.
The company has also launched the area of omnichannel, which will focus on meeting customer expectations across various touchpoints, aiming to offer personalised and seamless experiences, whether in-store, online, or remotely.
Aaby commented: "We are on the path to creating a better Ikea: even lower, more accessible, and sustainable prices." According to the CEO, the goal is to ensure financial solidity and create a unique omnichannel retail experience with the customer at the centre.
The review of the management committee responds to the new challenges in the retail sector and the need to adapt to consumer demands. The new structure will allow for improved costs, continued price reductions, and simplification of the organisation.
The committee will be composed of Carl Aaby as CEO and CSO; Lorena Lourido as Chief Financial Officer; Carlos Cocheteux as Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer; Marina Dubakina as Territorial Director; Alberto Fossati as Director of Omnichannel; Virginia Garrido as Director of Human Resources and Sustainability; Javier Martín as Logistics Director; Laura Galarreta as Director of Communication and Corporate Affairs; Alfonso Negrete as Director of Digital Strategy; and Noelia Lorenzo as Director of Coordination and Strategy.
Aaby concluded: "Ikea has evolved very rapidly in recent years and we must adapt to ensure our commitment to the customer: a low price so that decoration and well-being at home are within reach of the majority."
