Princess Leonor begins her training in Political Science today at Carlos III University of Madrid. This decision follows her three years of military training and marks a new chapter in her education as heir to the throne.
Today, Princess Leonor has started her studies in Political Science at the Getafe campus of Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), after completing her military training. The information, reported by expansion.com, details that the Princess arrived at the campus just before 9:00 AM, dressed in casual clothing, and was welcomed by numerous classmates and staff from the institution.
The eldest daughter of the Kings was greeted by the rector of UC3M, Ángel Arias, and other members of the academic staff. According to the rector, Leonor arrived “excited and calm,” showing her desire to begin this new academic challenge. The Princess has chosen to study at a public Spanish university, similar to her father, King Felipe VI's choice.
The cut-off mark for accessing this degree was 10.728, an increase of 1.19 points compared to the previous year. Leonor secured one of the places reserved for the International Baccalaureate, avoiding the need to take the EBAU.
The Princess's first year includes classes such as Theory of Law, taught by Professor Rafael de Asís Roig. UC3M has expressed its joy at Leonor's choice, considering her presence a responsibility and an honour.
The Political Science programme is designed to train specialists in political analysis, with an employment rate of 94.8% for its graduates in the first year after completing their studies. Today's academic day will end at 2:00 PM, at which point the Princess will attend a class on Research Methodology in Social Sciences.
