Sanitas has agreed to pay nearly 4 million euros to its former CEO, Iñaki Peralta, following his departure on 31 December 2025. The compensation includes payments for performance-related remuneration plans.
The insurer Sanitas will compensate its former CEO, Iñaki Peralta, with approximately 4 million euros following his exit from the company on 31 December 2025. This agreement, as reported by expansion.com, includes an amount pending settlement in the short term during 2026.
Sanitas's accounts for 2025 indicate that this compensation also includes other payments for similar reasons, although they are not specified in the financial report. The compensation to Peralta also includes rights to annual and multi-year remuneration plans that depend on achieving business objectives, as agreed between both parties.
During the last year, Sanitas reported salary and remuneration expenses that reached 6.7 million euros, an 168% increase compared to the previous year. His departure became effective on 1 January 2026, following the announcement made on 18 September 2025.
Carlos Jaureguizar was appointed as his successor at Sanitas and at Bupa Europe & Latinamerica. Prior to his departure, Peralta was hired by Banco Santander as CEO of its insurance business in Spain and global head of health insurance.
Sanitas, the second largest health insurer in Spain, reported a premium volume of 1.203 million euros in the first six months of 2026, with a growth of 9.39%.
