Saudi Arabia has unveiled its own electric car brand, Ceer, with the aim of diversifying its economy. This initiative seeks to reduce dependence on oil and contribute to the country's industrial development.

Saudi Arabia has taken a significant step in its economic diversification strategy by launching its own electric car brand, called Ceer. The official presentation took place this Monday, with the participation of Mohammed bin Salman, crown prince and president of the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Ceer has introduced two fully electric models, an SUV and a sedan, which are part of the Exobot line. The company aims to develop its industrial sector and reduce dependence on oil revenues. As highlighted in a statement, this aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to create an advanced industrial ecosystem.

Bin Salman stated that "the launch of the first Ceer vehicles represents a new advancement in Saudi Arabia's progress towards building a sustainable and prosperous industrial ecosystem." The company plans to launch a total of seven models over the next five years, including options for different customer needs.

The vehicles will be manufactured at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex, which positions itself as the largest automotive production plant in the Middle East. They are designed locally, reflecting the culture and landscape of Saudi Arabia while meeting high international standards.

It is estimated that by 2034, Ceer will contribute to the country's trade balance with over 80 billion Saudi riyals (approximately 21 billion dollars) and to the GDP with more than 30 billion riyals (around 8 billion dollars). Additionally, quality jobs are expected to be created in the sector.
