The revenue of the digital technology sector in Spain reached €146.66 billion in 2025, representing a 6.4% growth compared to the previous year. This increase is mainly attributed to the integration of artificial intelligence across various sectors.

This continuous growth, which has been maintained for five consecutive years, positions the sector above the growth rates of the Spanish economy.
The past year was marked by the maturation of artificial intelligence, especially generative AI, which has transitioned from being an emerging technology to a key enabler for businesses and administrations. This technology has driven the demand for IT services and accelerated digital transformation across multiple sectors, facilitating new methods of analysis and service personalisation.
The Digital Economy Barometer also highlighted that cybersecurity, intelligent automation, and developments in quantum computing have been fundamental in the evolution of the technological ecosystem. The cloud remains essential for building digital services, while cybersecurity consolidates as a strategic pillar in a complex geopolitical context.
In Spain, European funds continue to play a crucial role in energising technological projects, especially in areas such as industrial digitalisation and digital health. Growth has been driven by the four areas of the digital sector, with information technologies experiencing the most growth, reaching an increase of 9.3% to €79.486 billion, which represents 54.2% of total revenue.
E-commerce also showed significant growth of 20.6%, reaching €114.812 billion. Although the number of companies in the industry remained stable, employment in the sector grew by 2.4%, adding 842,596 jobs.
