The Ibex 35 index starts the day with a slight drop, trading around 19,500 points, as investors prepare for the United States Federal Reserve meeting. Inflationary pressure from oil and interest rates worry the markets.

The Ibex 35 seeks a way to halt its decline by opening near 19,500 points, in a context marked by uncertainty over the monetary policy of the Federal Reserve of the United States, which will meet tomorrow. According to expansion.com, the chances of an interest rate hike have risen to 90% following the latest employment and inflation data in the United States.

Pressure also comes from rising oil prices, which are trading above 107 dollars per barrel again. This increase, along with the rise in debt costs, is affecting European markets. The yield on ten-year debt in the United States exceeds 5%, and in Spain, the ten-year bond exceeds 4%.

Despite the pressure on the markets, the technology sector, especially related to artificial intelligence, shows signs of recovery after the correction suffered earlier in the week.
