The insurer Zurich has increased its provision to compensate Sabadell to **€36.4 million**, **26% more** than last year. This payment will depend on the achievement of commercial targets set between both parties.

Zurich Vida has set aside **€36.4 million** to compensate Sabadell, its bancassurance partner in Spain. This provision, as reported by expansion.com, is intended to fulfil the commitment to remunerate the bank if certain marketing objectives are met.

The reserved amount is **26% higher** than the **€28.7 million** that was recorded at the end of 2024. This amount is considered a variable compensation, subject to the fulfilment of a business plan established in May 2014.

Sabadell could receive this payment in **2026**, provided that the agreed conditions are met. The collaboration between the insurer and the bank has boosted their business, achieving a **122.7%** increase in **2025**, with total premiums of **€4.14 billion** through the joint venture Bansabadell Vida.

However, in the first half of this year, the premiums of this joint subsidiary have decreased by **22%**, reaching **€1.671 billion**. Zurich Insurance, which holds a **4.95%** stake in Sabadell, has maintained this holding since it increased its investment following the takeover bid by BBVA in May 2024.
