The cryptocurrencies Hyperliquid and ZCash have recorded increases of over 100% in 2026, despite market pressures. This phenomenon occurs amid a new wave of interest rate hikes affecting the sector.
As of today, the cryptocurrency market faces a new phase of interest rate hikes, which has historically been a challenge for this sector. According to expansion.com, the European Central Bank will confirm a 25 basis point increase, raising rates to 2.50%. This situation arises in a context where bitcoin and ethereum are experiencing significant declines, with losses of -10% and -16% respectively since January.
Despite this landscape, two cryptocurrencies have stood out in the market. Hyperliquid, the ninth largest cryptocurrency, has seen its price increase by 226% so far this year, driven by its derivatives platform model and its inclusion in the crypto ETF segment. This token has become one of the favourites among investors, noted for its resilience against market pressures.
On the other hand, ZCash, with a market capitalisation of 20.57 billion dollars, has experienced an increase of 139% in 2026, with a recent rally of 152% in the last 30 days. This growth has been favoured by its increasing demand in the privacy-focused cryptocurrency segment, an area that has gained interest among investors.
Both cryptocurrencies are demonstrating their strength despite an adverse environment, which could signal a shift in the dynamics of the crypto market in the coming months.
