The Town Hall of Mairena del Aljarafe and AEMA open the call for the second awards that recognise businesses and entrepreneurs in the municipality. The deadline is until 15 September.

The Town Hall of Mairena del Aljarafe and the association AEMA have launched the second edition of the Mairena Business Awards, which will distinguish businesses and entrepreneurial individuals in the municipality across five categories. Applications can be submitted until 15 September 2026.

The awards will recognise small commerce, companies with great international projection, young entrepreneurs, socially responsible companies, and businesswomen. The jury will assess the motivation and development of the project, its impact on the municipality, job creation, collaboration with local suppliers, environmental measures, and official certifications of quality, sustainability, equality, or business excellence.

The mayor, Antonio Conde, explained that this call aims to “recognise innovative companies and SMEs committed to our society and contributing to the prosperity of Mairena.” In his opinion, these awards serve to highlight local talent, as “entrepreneurship is a real and exciting opportunity key to our great town.”

“The business fabric not only energises the economy but also builds the real well-being of our community,” noted the president of AEMA, Borja Uruñuela.

Borja Uruñuela, president of AEMA, defended that the entrepreneurs of Mairena del Aljarafe are “true engines of our progress” and that these awards are a tribute to their role.

Applications should be sent via email to premiosmairenaempresarial@gmail.com. The registration form is available on the municipal website, under the economic development and employment section.

The winners will be announced in October, during the awards gala. This initiative is part of a broader municipal strategy to support the local business fabric, which includes the Mairena Voucher for promoting commerce, training actions, and new services for businesses.

The municipal budgets approved by the Plenary on 23 July multiply by more than three the allocation for aid and services for businesses, which will allow for the maintenance of support for the business fabric and consolidate aid for young entrepreneurs.
