The Community of Madrid has decided not to attend the vote on the new regional financing model, scheduled for tomorrow. This announcement comes after the meeting of the technical committee where the reform proposal was discussed.

The Community of Madrid will not participate in the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council (CPFF) that will be held tomorrow, where the new regional financing model is expected to be voted on. This decision has been communicated by sources from the regional government and aligns with a call for other autonomous communities governed by the PP to do the same, thus seeking to halt the reform.

According to information reported by Expansión, the decision was made after a technical meeting that was deemed "frustrating" by Madrid authorities. They stated that, despite their proposals and the request to postpone the vote by a month, the Ministry of Finance did not agree to their requests.

The government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso maintains that the new financing model has been agreed "bilaterally" between the Spanish and Catalan governments, excluding the rest of the autonomous communities. This has led the Community of Madrid to consider that the absence of all the autonomous communities governed by the PP could prevent the materialisation of this agreement.

The vote scheduled for tomorrow remains uncertain, although other regional administrations have expressed their intention to attend the meeting in Madrid.
