OpenAI has revealed its new artificial intelligence model, GPT-6 Astra, the most powerful to date. This launch aims to surpass its competitor Anthropic and sets new standards in AI technology.
The company OpenAI has officially launched its most powerful artificial intelligence model, called GPT-6 Astra, as part of its strategy to lead the sector against its main rival, Anthropic, according to expansion.com.
This new model is presented as a general artificial intelligence capable of performing tasks at the same level as a human. During a press conference, OpenAI's president, Greg Brockman, stated that Astra is available from today for clients using Daybreak, its cybersecurity program.
Additionally, it is expected to be enabled for paid plans such as Pro, Plus, Enterprise, and Business next week, and will also be accessible through the company's API and Amazon Web Services.
OpenAI highlights that Astra is capable of managing complex tasks with high precision and speed. Brockman expressed that we are entering a new period with the phrase:
“welcome to the era of AGI”, referring to general artificial intelligence.
GPT-6 Astra not only offers recommendations but can execute tasks such as formatting legal documents, developing 3D video games, and handling everyday tasks like searching for food or booking sports facilities.
Regarding security measures, OpenAI has implemented restrictions on Astra's more advanced functions, as the model reached a critical threshold of cybersecurity. This model can identify and exploit vulnerabilities in computer systems without human intervention, which has led the company to strengthen its security protocols.
Access to these critical capabilities will initially be limited to organizations specialized in cybersecurity through the Daybreak Blue program. OpenAI has also developed a monitoring mechanism to detect and prevent potentially harmful actions by Astra.
