The Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, has visited the new Carmencita Especias plant in Novelda (Alicante), as reported by La Moncloa. The company's headquarters occupies 30,000 square metres and is the largest spice factory in Spain, as well as one of the most modern in Europe.
Sánchez was accompanied by the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant, and the Government Delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé. The three toured the new facilities of the brand, which the source identifies as a benchmark for the economic activity of the Valencian Community.
Founded in 1920, Carmencita Especias closed 2025 with a revenue of €119 million and is present in over 70 countries. The company employs around five hundred workers.
The company maintains collaborations with local initiatives, such as the Carmencita Chair of Flavor Studies at the University of Alicante and the Alicante Gastronómica Solidaria association, which prepares meals for vulnerable groups.
