The Local Government Board of Alhaurín de la Torre has granted a licence to Gestora Comercial Hipersol to build a shopping centre in the eastern area, featuring a Carrefour hypermarket, shops and 400 parking spaces.

The Alhaurín de la Torre Town Hall has approved the building licence requested by Gestora Comercial Hipersol S. L. to construct a shopping centre on Santa Clara Avenue, in the eastern part of the urban expansion. The plot, measuring 13,877 square metres, is classified as consolidated urban land with commercial designation, according to the LISTA (Law 7/2021 on Territorial Sustainability in Andalusia) and the municipality's General Plan.

The project, with a budget of around 10.8 million euros, includes a hypermarket of the Carrefour brand that will occupy approximately 4,900 square metres on the ground floor, as announced by the mayor, Joaquín Villanova. The building will also feature a dozen commercial units, a mezzanine, and two underground parking levels with around 400 spaces, of which about 13 will be designated for electric vehicles.

The licence sets a one-year deadline for the start of construction and a maximum of three years for its completion, counted from the start of the works. Villanova has assured that the execution will finish well before that deadline. The project already has a Favourable Conditional Environmental Qualification.

The local government team highlights that the initiative will create a significant number of jobs and improve the commercial offering in the area, as part of its support for initiatives that energise the local economy, both for large chains and for SMEs and entrepreneurs.
