The Green Economy days of Diario Sur bring together experts from Unicaja Banco, Hidralia, Moeve, Ecoterrae and the Diputación in Málaga on Tuesday to discuss how to finance circular economy projects in water, renewables and waste.
The AC Málaga Palacio hotel hosts a new edition of the Green Economy days on 22 September, starting at 9:00 AM, organised by Diario Sur with the sponsorship of Unicaja Banco and the collaboration of Hidralia and Moeve. This year's focus is on innovative solutions based on the circular economy and the funding avenues available to implement them.
The panel will address access to bank credit for circular economy projects, with concrete examples of financing already realised, and investment opportunities in Málaga. In this part, Evaristo Ramírez, director of strategy and sustainability at Unicaja Banco, will detail the keys that an initiative must meet to obtain financial backing.
From Hidralia, its director of sustainability, social action and transformation, Gonzalo Jiménez, will explain the company's Ecofactories model and the use of regenerated water in both agriculture and cities, as well as the collaboration between companies and institutions.
Marien Benavente, environmental director at Moeve, will present the Onuba project, focused on promoting green hydrogen, and detail how the company integrates circular economy measures, reduces water consumption, and manages the circularity of waste from its facilities and third parties.
The first vice president of the Provincial Council of Málaga and deputy of the Infrastructure and Sustainable Territory Area, Cristóbal Ortega, will present the project to utilise biomass from the Málaga mountains as a heating source for inland villages, as well as the Málaga no caduca initiative, aimed at repurposing food surpluses for those in need.
The environmental sustainability consultancy Ecoterrae will be represented by Abilio Caetano, its business development director, who will discuss municipal Circular Economy plans with replicable success cases for other municipalities and the EU Sustainable Product Ecodesign Regulation, which will introduce changes in the private market.
