The Seville Chamber of Commerce has awarded the first OC-waste certificate to Guadalquivir Maritime Terminal, a seal that recognises waste reduction and the circular economy. The president of the entity, Francisco Herrero, presented the document at an event with the company's leadership.
The Seville Chamber of Commerce has granted Guadalquivir Maritime Terminal (TMG) the first OC-waste (Zero Waste Objective) certificate issued through its Guarantee Chamber brand. The president of the corporation, Francisco Herrero, handed over the document at an event attended by the CEO of TMG, Beatriz Fernández Bodas, and the head of Quality, Environment and Occupational Risk Prevention at the terminal, Marina González.
Also present were Ana Llopis, president of Llopis Group, partner in the certification standardisation, and María Vega, from the Communication and Institutional Relations department of Llopis Environmental Services.
The seal distinguishes organisations that reduce their environmental impact through reuse, recycling, and waste recovery. The goal is to ensure that the least amount of waste possible ends up in landfills and that resources are better utilised.
The certification is valid for one year and is renewable. It is aimed at companies and entities from any sector that wish to demonstrate their commitment to the circular economy. Among its effects, the standard seeks to improve brand image, adjust operational costs, and demonstrate transparent environmental management.
Interested companies can request a certification offer through the Guarantee Chamber website by filling out a questionnaire. Afterwards, the technicians from the Seville Chamber will contact the company to initiate the process.
For the logistics and port sector in the province, this type of seal adds to the requirements already demanded by some administrations and clients regarding sustainability. The certified terminal operates in the port of Seville, a location with cargo traffic and connection to the Guadalquivir.
