Today 'Gènesi' premieres, a series that explores the gastronomic revolution of Ferran Adrià and his iconic restaurant elBulli, as reported by expansion.com. This project, directed by David Pujol, is not just a simple documentary, but a fiction that narrates the milestones of Spanish cuisine from the Cala Montjoi space, which closed as a restaurant in 2011.
The series consists of six 45-minute episodes, featuring members of Adrià's team, such as Marc Cuspinera and Eduard Bosch. The plot includes over a hundred dishes from the 1,846 that were created at elBulli, showcasing authentic and detailed cuisine.
Adrià emphasizes that “there is no makeup here, everything is real cooking,” highlighting the authenticity of the work presented in the series. In addition to the story of elBulli, a fictional plot is introduced that addresses entrepreneurship in the gastronomic field.
The launch of 'Gènesi' on Netflix is scheduled for November 18, coinciding with its presentation in Madrid. Adrià has also planned a world tour to promote the series, starting on December 8 in New York, where José Andrés will be the event's godfather.
