The Port Authority of Huelva kicks off September with its sights set on completing the underground project of Avenida Hispanoamérica, a project costing over 60 million euros that awaits approval from the Council of Ministers.
The Port Authority of Huelva inaugurates a new season, the 2026/2027, with the aim of bringing the city closer to the port. This was explained by its president, Alberto Santana, in an interview published by condavision.es, where he reviews ongoing projects and those to come.
The major pending project is the underground project of Avenida Hispanoamérica, a work budgeted at over 60 million euros that is waiting for the Council of Ministers to give its approval. Santana is confident and hopes that the green light will arrive during this month of September.
This underground project will allow the people of Huelva to access the dock more easily, enjoy the sunsets, and be closer to the Estuary. The already completed section, the promenade from the Tinto dock to the Columbus monument, is a demonstration of what is sought to be achieved throughout the area.
The area near the Marismas del Odiel already hosts events such as the Champions Burger, and the Port Authority indicates that more initiatives will come for citizens to enjoy this location.
Moreover, the port maintains its role in attracting tourism, with the arrival of up to 16 cruises a year.
September also brings the inauguration of the Andalusian green hydrogen valley, the largest green hydrogen plant to be built in Europe. An initiative by Moeve that will be located on port land.
