Acciona has announced the division of its Infrastructure unit into three areas: Construction, Water, and Concessions. This measure aims to facilitate its growth in the context of the sale of its Energy subsidiary.
Acciona has decided to disaggregate its Infrastructure business unit into three independent units: Construction, Water, and Concessions. This restructuring aims to streamline its growth at a time when the company is in the process of selling its subsidiary Acciona Energía, according to expansion.com.
The president and CEO of Acciona, José Manuel Entrecanales, has informed employees that "the development and maturity achieved by the businesses traditionally integrated under the Infrastructure umbrella advise simplifying the organisational model." The new areas will report directly to him.
The new president of the Water area will be José Díaz Caneja, who previously held the position of CEO of Infrastructure. Alongside him, Manuel Manjón will be the CEO of this area. The Construction business will be led by Fernando Fajardo, who until now was the director of Operations, Innovation, and Technology of Infrastructure. Meanwhile, Diego Marín will continue to head the Concessions business.
Additionally, Joaquín Mollinedo, who was the director of Institutional Relations, Communication, and Brand, has been appointed secretary general of the board of directors of Acciona. Jorge Vega-Penichet, secretary general since 2006, will continue as vice-secretary, while María Cordón will take over the Direction of Communication and Brand of the company.
