The Chamber of Commerce of Valladolid has presented its strategic plan for the 2026-2030 term, aiming for the province to become an economic node and leader in the digitalisation of SMEs.
The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Valladolid has officially presented the strategic lines that will guide its actions during the 2026-2030 term. The event, held this Monday, served to unveil the plan with which the corporation aims for Valladolid to become the "economic node of northwest Spain," as explained by its president, Víctor A. Caramanzana.
The plan sets the goal that by 2030 the province will be a benchmark in Industry 5.0 and the application of artificial intelligence in SMEs. To achieve this, the Chamber will create its own team of specialists who will visit companies to implement technology. Caramanzana noted that the aim is for "no SME to be left out due to the inability to afford a technology department" and that the new jobs generated by this transformation will also be created in the province.
The president has based the term on two concepts: business humanism and technology with roots. In his speech, he argued that Europe must provide its own model in contrast to Silicon Valley or China, and proposed that Valladolid host this reflection by bringing together companies, universities, technologists, and philosophers.
The corporation will maintain four working commissions: Talent and Leadership, Business, Markets and New Opportunities, Industry, AI and Competitiveness, and a new Territory and Future Commission, aimed at territorial cohesion and combating the depopulation of the province. "A province that is emptying is not just a social problem: it is competitiveness that we are throwing away," stated Caramanzana.
Seven Advisory Members who will accompany the Plenary have also been announced. Among them are Fernando Rey, professor of Constitutional Law, as Talent Member; Eduardo Ordax, computer engineer, as Transformation and AI Member; and Belén Viloria, expert in social innovation, as Innovation and Sustainability Member.
The event coincided with the Great Business Vermouth of the Valladolid Fair and Festivals, which brought together hundreds of companies in a toast to the city’s economic future. The Chamber represents more than 34,000 companies in the province.
