The deadline to submit bids for the Community of Madrid's penthouse in Chamberí ended last night. Now, interested parties will have to wait until September 16 to learn the details of the bidding process.
Yesterday at 23:59, the deadline for submitting bids for the controversial penthouse purchased by the Community of Madrid in Chamberí came to a close. According to expansion.com, the public company Planifica Madrid has announced that the bids will not be opened until next Wednesday, September 16 at 13:00.
The opening of the bids will be conducted remotely, allowing bidders to join via the Teams platform. The starting price for the property was 6.7 million euros, which is 400,000 euros more than what the Community of Madrid is believed to have paid a few months ago.
The criterion for selecting the buyer will be based solely on price, awarding the penthouse to the highest bid. In the event of a tie, the deadline will be extended by five working days for bidders to submit improved offers.
Once the bids are opened, a period will be established to review the selected proposal and correct any possible errors. The final result will be published on the Community of Madrid's Contracting Portal.
The penthouse, located at number 35 on Paseo General Martínez Campos, has a built area of 481 square meters, of which 382 m² corresponds to the dwelling and 99 m² to common elements, such as a terrace. Potential buyers will not be able to visit the property before making their bid.
The terms and conditions also mention that the property includes a storage room, the right to park two vehicles in the garage, and a commercial space on the ground floor of the building. Additionally, the Community has assured that no renovations have been made to the penthouse.
