BBVA has announced a restructuring in its Investment and Corporate Banking division, promoting four executives and expanding the responsibilities of another. These changes aim to strengthen the business following a review by its management committee.
The financial entity BBVA has carried out a reorganisation in its Investment and Corporate Banking (CIB) division, where it has promoted four executives and assigned greater responsibilities to a fifth. These adjustments are the first since the structural review of its management committee conducted at the end of July, according to expansion.com.
With these changes, BBVA aims to enhance its investment business, which has shown significant growth, closing the first half of 2026 with €2.054 billion in profits, an increase of 21% compared to the same period last year.
Among the new appointments is Jaime Artola, who will now lead the Sustainability, Industries & Cross Border (SIX) and BBVA Spark unit, while Susana de Pablo will take on the role of global head of Structured Finance. Nicolas Allano has been appointed as the new leader of the Investment Banking business in France, a key market for the bank.
These moves reflect BBVA's intention to maintain the momentum of its corporate business and to adapt its structure to market needs. The relocation of executives is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its position in the financial sector.
